Quick card for the FIL

Just a quick card for my father-in-law as I forgot his birthday! Oops!

The dragonfly is a decuopage and I added a few sparkly bits with some glitter embossing. The ribbon and ribbon flower are just accents I had close to hand and a simple peel off all added to some textured handmade (not by me!) card :-)

Hopefully I'll be able to add some other photos soon.

New craft class feedback

Typical, arrived late for my new craft class.. not the best start and my nerves had kicked in, you never do know what to expect when you're doing something new... but it was great.  The project the group had chosen to do this week had complicated instructions which the group tried their best to follow (and I copied :-) .  I definately think it was an over complicated project which could have been instructed better, but anyhow... I think we all just sort of gave up once we got the mechanism working, it was some sort of pull sentiment type of folding card. Would have probably been lovely had we understood the instructions but after alot of relief we started stamping and colouring in with promarkers.... I was relived :-)  LOL so all in all I'm glad I went. It's a fortnightly class with challenges set inbetween so I think hopefully it'll be lots of fun.  My first group challenge is to make a butterfly themed card... I'll post the result soon! 

New craft class!!

Super excited today, going to my frist craft class for about  4 years!!  I had to stop for personal reasons a few years back but so excited today :-)  Hope it'll be a friendly place as its only a small club/class apparently... can't wait - will report back soon :-)

June cards

I know I've not posted for a while, but I'm really getting back into my crafts again now..

Here's 2 cards that I recently created.

The first is a simple crop and stick card with a couple of embellishments and gems.

The second is a nicer card made from pearlescent card, cropped wordy paper, blue line peel off, tag with a happy birthday peel off, gems and a decoupaged peacock.

Apologies for the quality of the photos, if i get a chance i'll try taking some better ones.

I’m not sure when I discovered that I loved being crafty… I love making little things though.  I think it’s that personal feeling of creating something and enjoying it, not forgetting that proud feeling at the end...

It’s actually been a while now since I’ve been able to enjoy crafting.. for various reasons in my life I stopped a few years ago.  I wish I hadn’t as it didn’t change anything…

Anyhow, now, hopefully, it’s time to restart… learn some new skills, enjoy all the new products and techniques that are out there and just have fun again!

I’m hoping to post some pictures on here of previous craft projects, and also soon post new projects up. I’m exciting about trying my had in some crafty challenges… who knows.

I’m really liking being able to look at other people’s blogs and getting inspiration from them… just need to crack on and do some I think, but where to start!!!
